8.

Hey'all. so instead of a monday post here is a sunday post. Just felt like doing it today.
This week has been VERY happening for me.
Basically I've been a tech crew / mass media / sound crew / admin staff for this whole week.

At the start of the week I helped Lisoon to do up some namelists and gifts in time for Christmas. They are all meant for Singapore! (few for china actually..) One carton is on the way for DMIT lecturers hehe.

We went out to get the chocolates, but before that she brought me to lunch at this chinese restaurant which had XIAO LONG BAOS (omg) and nice spicy noodles and soy drink.
The xiaolongbaos were quite disappointing sad to say, but the noodles were great.
& after she dropped by her house to get stuff

Boss's house xmas tree! haha.

Then we went to See's candies! Its quite close to their place, & the interior was so cool.
We got 44 boxes of chocolates in total if I remember correctly. Cray.

One thing I like about the place is they don't mind letting customers test a few different types of candies before actually buying it. MY FAVOURITE IS THE ONE ABOVE. PEANUT BUTTER so good.

& besides wrapping + packing the gifts I also wrote all the cards.
After we're done everything is shipped on Tuesday~

ON WEDNESDAY WE WENT GILROY.
I think that must've been one of the longest car rides ever. (I'm not counting LA....)
We finally visited the legendary Gilroy outlets, but it wasn't quite what I expected. Maybe because its a weekday, but I wasn't really in the mood to shop. I got mainly gifts and a few stuffs for myself.

This qt dog we saw at one of the shops. SHE IS JUST AMAZING. Super friendly puppy hehe :D

All the tops I got for Dylan, my baby nephew. These are too big for him now, but he'll grow up someday.

The next day! We shot Reverend Lau's christmas message to Singapore.
No idea when or where it'd be played but I'm guessing it'll be shown in Singapore's cornerstone church.
**

After the shoot I went to look for Lisoon because she needed some help with paperwork for the china students coming next year. After we sorted them out she brought me out to get some new bedsheets for the dorms, which may be meant for the china students .

The one that got rejected by Boss and Alex because it's too girly. I love the colour but not the prints :/
In the end they chose the dark blue striped one (i didn't take photo of it)
but it's really alot nicer.

& after I went to float around again, I went to see Phil in the conference room where he's fixing a holder to put the Go-pro up on the ceiling in the Sanctuary. (unfortunately it wasn't up in time for the Mandarin Christmasing, it might be for the Cantonese one though...)

Boss smouldering some wires. Lol i hope i got the spelling right.

Basically if I'm down here, I control every phone line in this church.

Kent helping with connecting the wires to the Tricaster.

Later at night we went to the Sanctuary to play with Sophia's puppy while the Cornerstone singers were practising! ^_^ Fendi...Fandy...I have no idea how to spell her name but she's a cutie. She loves to be cuddled but likes running away too, which made us very tired...
****

On Friday I went to the cambridge building with Phil to fix a door. How cool is that.
Also its actually the first time I'm seeing the inside of a lock. Next time I lock myself out of my room I'd know what to do....

Before the full-dress rehearsal at night I was with the tech-crew for setting up the lights and stuff.

Act-only. HAHAHA. Tech crew yo.

Chinese dance....
Their dance instructor is so fierce though. Poor kids.

Boss going under the stage lol.

Testing the promo videos for Christmasing on screen.....

TESTING THE CONFETTI GUNS. WHOOP WHOOP.

Helped to set up the mics for the youth orchestra for the rehearsal (but they didn't show up...)

Starry lights ...And choking haze. The smoke effects were cool but it was legit smoke. Like from a fire.

Orchestra setting up the chairs ~~

the performers hehe.

Mandarin Christmasing 2012It wasn't much, I helped with setting up for the sound crew and all but I was the control room soundwoman during the main show. It's not as easy as I thought, because the pace is much faster than normal services.

After the show, Boss brought us for some desserts hehe. TAUHUEY I MISS YOU SO MUCH. I MISS TAUHUEY ALOT. LIKE SERIOUSLY.

This morning I woke up at 9.30am, and saw a message saying that I have to be ready by 10am. This is seriously the first time I prepared this fast. I was ready about 15 mins later lol.
I went for the foundations class where Mrs Lau was teaching. Reverend Lau's wife.
She's really a very nice lady.

After the usual morning service we prepared for the children's programme..
It's so much easier than Christmasing, and the little children performing on stage are seriously very cute :D
It took about an hour or so, or maybe even less than that.

After it was copying the DVDs and selling them to the enthusiastic parents who were legit QUEUING UP to buy the DVDs. Business was good today. HAHAHAHA.

Then we went for a short set-up training in the cafetorium. Charlie taught us how to label the lights in the Scottish Rite and stuff, then the rest went out for a movie while I stayed behind to hang about.

Alex brought me to help out with organizing the cables at the storeroom, then for that one hour I was wrapping and tying cables with the Inventory people. It was nice chatting with Josh and JJ for abit :D (yay, friends)

Then Raymond came over to show me how to work the spotlights. It's not the technical term for it but whatever, It's easier to remember it like that.

After everything is done, tech crew started a heated discussion about the scaffold. It's mainly about how to drape it over to cover the fog machine and stuff. When I left they were still discussing but as I figured I'm not much help to them...I left. Lol.

It's seriously a very busy week, but I love it. Next week is the Cantonese Christmasing, and the week after is IT!!! English Christmasing. Hehe can't wait.

Till next week, so much love,
ELYZ.
