Heyall
So this week we started off with having lessons in the studio.
Cables 101 with The Boss.
It was really quite useful to finally understand each cables , their names and how they look like. because I am really weak at these kinda stuff, I took down alot of notes and hopefully they'll be useful by the time we go for Christmasing.
After training Matt brought us out again! Whoop. We had korean bbq this time , and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!! I haven't had korean for quite a long time already, and the food there was a pleasant surprise, because I never expected to get good korean cuisine here. But then again, the place is run by authentic Korean 아주마s (Ajhummas) , so it was ALLL good.
rice cake soup. No amount of words can describe how much I miss this thing. And its nice!!
HEHE.
After food, we went for a little trip to bookstores. I am not an avid reader (except for Harry Potter of course), but I love hanging out at bookstores because 1) its quiet, 2) I love the atmosphere.
The atmosphere just really feels like knowledge to me. Lol.
The next day~ We went to Alcatraz! A long-awaited trip I must say.
The tuna-melt sandwich I had for brunch at Pier 39 before heading to the ferry terminal.
Queuing at Pier 33.
yay!
Photo of the day.
All the excited people.
The photos always kinda freak me out a little bit.
A cell.
Yep. Times square.
Dining area.
Apparently this was opened for people to go downstairs to have a look but NOBODY dared to go down.
(so we didn't too)
The solitary confinements.
Notty kids come here.
Library.
This was by far the most epic incident that happened on The Rock. (Duh)
Battle Of Alcatraz. It sounds pretty cool actually.
In memory of one of the guards who died in that very cell.
& so....fast forward to..
GO-KART!!!!
I'm never a really competitive person so I was driving leisurely around (that's a lie, its because the person scolded me for smashing around so I took my time to not crash into anything.)
I always crash because I don't drive obviously, so yea, I'll just take my own...sweet....time......
But anywho, it was a really fun experience.

SET-UP DAY for Mandarin Christmasing '12.
OH yeah, time really flies, it was barely harvestfest/thanksgiving and now its already preparations for christmasing. How time passes so quickly here scares me alot.
Alot..many...people...
Scaffold. Yey.
Harlo.
At night after dinner, I went alone to see the sound-check and rehearsal of the mandarin christmasing.
I learned ALOT from Phil that day.
Wiring up the performers.
Phil's very noticeable cheat notes during sound-check. Its about different instruments and their levels and stuff. it was really useful when it comes to sound-checks for the band or the orchestra.
Testing 1, 2, 3....
I stayed until about 9.30 and they started having this meeting which I couldn't understand 90% of the time.
(they were speaking cantonese, ironically.)
**
& on Sunday for service I did camera downstairs again. It was fairly simple but I really like it alot.
& AFTER we went outing with Matt again.
Japantown this time, with Sophia. We had jap-food obviously and I ordered this Tori-ramen which I adore alot but almost couldn't finish because THE SERVINGS ARE TOO CRAY OVER HERE. & I thought I had a huge appetite when I was back in Singapore lol.
Anyway that pretty much sums up number7, and we're going into number8. Which is TOO FASSSST.
I hope everything goes smoothly for all the programmes coming up and hopefully I can learn enough to be of some help for Sound Crew. Hopefully.
Till then, love y'all,
ELYZ.
