Week 3!!!

Is week 3! Time really flies...but yea! It was another great week! Same as my previous post, I will share on the stuff I was working on this week and then the places I went. So lets get started! 

I basically finish up the editing for the harvest fest short film we were working on the last few weeks as wednesday was the harvest fest. I spend about just a day this week to finish up the editing and then pass on the final work to Tania as she was doing the color edit. We then move on to a new project and that is to create a music video for their thanksgiving dinner. They started shooting some time ago as there were many things to be put on this music video. There will be the english,cantonese and chinese  church choir as well as interviews. So there will be more cuts and editing to be done! 

We mainly help them to shoot the cantonese and english choir. Sorry! I did not take much photo during the shoot. hahaha.. Most of the time I was helping with the setting up and also helping tania with the camera for some of the shots. After shooting, I went to start on the edit! This was my second time editing on a music video as I did it once during one of my school project, but this is much bigger in scale as there were more things to incorporate and it was slightly different from the last one I did. Throughout editing, I learn to use the multi camera function(Thanks Adobe for this function!), and to make use of the IN and OUT function to edit a music video as well as more hands on using the new premiere CS6. 

During their church service LIVE production, I was taught to operate the sound mixer and to be a switcher. It was a great skill to learn as I was not taught before and I look forward to learn more about LIVE production in the next couple of weeks! 

OK! Enough of work stuff! Think you are getting bored too right? Now for the places I went!

This week, again Harry brought us to many places of interest! 

 Can you guess what bridge is this? It will be funny if we did not come here uh? So ya! Harry brought us to visit the golden gate bridge!

We went across the golden gate bridge and up to a mountain to have a better view!

Erh...forget where this place is, but ya, another nice place we visited. hahaha.

Lombard street! Is known for its pretty steep road. You can burn many calories just by walking up and down. hahaha

Week 3

Hello all, so this is our third week here and everything has been great. We are getting used to the lifestyle here etc. The past week we did the filming for the thanksgiving Music video thinggum which was pretty fun. Managed to try out the cameras this week for all the choir shooting and was the cameraman with help from Larry~~~~ Also renamed all the footages from the interviews and choir with him. It was really fun learning how to use the camera and after much practice this week I am less panicky when I use it hahahaa because in all honestly I had no confidence to even operate the camera at all. so yay.

 Filmed for the canto choir it was so stressful at first but got better, also thanks to larry for helping me hahahaha and being patient. Lol. Tried the handheld shot too and my arms just died. I am amazed with how people can hold it without shaking too much. But yes.

 Anyway on friday harry brought us sightseeing which was really fun. Yay we were so tired after that but it was good to soak in the culture and the sun and the cold air and everything. hahah

So this morning during the canto service, I was in charge of sound. It was alright doing sound hahahaha. Trying to be a DJ lol.

 

During the main English service, I was in charge of one of the cameras, alone with Ace and Larry. We each got one camera. Was really fun actually. I would like to this forever hahahaa. I love spotting people, also, it was a really good experience for me and I was glad I had it. I had my reservations at first about whether I was "qualified" to use the camera since I did not have much practice and had loads of self load but, i think I am gaining more exposure and getting less panicky everytime I use it and that's pretty cool. So, alright to another week of fun :) Upcoming week of editing this thanksgiving video and getting it done by this week. Leggo. Bye for now! Work hard play harder hahaha

hey wassup y'all so this post is going to be about week 2 of our internship.

after production for the HarvestFest video, we began post. I'm working on sound, and music, everything. I have never thought that doing sound involves so much work, as what I did for school projects are really simple. But also because of that, I learnt many new things which are really useful, such as the amount of effort needed to listen to even the tiniest details.

Since start of work I have been concentrating on mostly sound work on the projects, including the Sunday morning service, because I'm more confident in that area. I do hope to build up some of my confidence for camera work too though. 

We went to a event for 'SF CUTTERS' which is apparently for all the editors around the area to learn about new softwares and stuff. I am a terrible editor myself but it's quite enriching to attend the session. There are also talks on audio so I was quite interested in that. 




& so I've won something for the first time in ma life!!! (ok...not really...)
We have these like, a ticket with a number on it. I am number 188 y'all !!!!

(There are actually about 20 winners so....) 

Ok as I was saying, I went up to pick out my prize, expecting something like a macbook pro, but nop, its mostly workshops and software plugins. I picked out this ,thinking its a free software but it is a workshop, with no software. I felt cheated to be honest hahahah.

It's quite exciting!! The bulls part are scarier than the mad horses. One dude was injured so everyone was like shocked but I guess he's okay.

Although I don't really like Gangnam style, before the show started they played the song and people were like standing up and started dancing. It was pretty cool at that moment!!

So that pretty much sums up the second week, we're already starting shoot on the Thanksgiving video, and finishing up the HarvestFest video. Till' next time,
